Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Tide Pool ("Tide Pool", "the Game", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Tide Pool mobile game.

Tide Pool is developed by Mohammed Shahabas. The Game does not require an account or login and does not operate its own backend, analytics service, or user-tracking system.

2. Information Stored Locally by Tide Pool

Tide Pool stores game-related information locally on your device using MMKV. This may include:

• Game progress and level completion
• Scores and personal bests
• Game settings and preferences
• Daily streak and related local game state
• Information needed to remember your Remove Ads entitlement

This locally stored game data is not sent to a Tide Pool server by the Game.

3. Advertising — Google AdMob

Tide Pool uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including interstitial and rewarded advertisements. AdMob is provided by Google and may process information from your device to provide, measure, and protect its advertising services.

Depending on applicable law, your consent choices, and your device or account settings, information processed by AdMob may include:

• Advertising or device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID
• IP address, which may be used to infer approximate location
• Information about interactions with the Game and advertisements
• Diagnostic and technical information
• Information used for advertising measurement and fraud prevention

Tide Pool does not receive or maintain a personal advertising profile for you on its own servers.

Consent and advertising preferences

Tide Pool uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage applicable privacy and consent choices for advertising. Where consent is required, available choices are presented through the applicable consent flow.

Advertising behavior may vary depending on your consent choices, applicable regulations, and Google advertising settings.

4. In-App Purchases — Google Play Billing

Tide Pool offers an optional "Remove Ads" purchase through Google Play Billing. Payments are processed by Google Play. Tide Pool does not receive or store your credit card number, bank account information, or other payment instrument details.

Tide Pool stores the information necessary to remember your purchase entitlement locally on your device.

5. Notifications

Tide Pool can provide optional local notifications for features such as daily streak reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.

Tide Pool does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging or its own push-notification server for these reminders.

6. Sharing Game Results

Tide Pool may use the Android system share sheet when you choose to share a Daily Tide result or other game content. The Game does not operate its own social network or collect the content you choose to share through the Android share system.

7. Information We Do Not Collect Directly

Tide Pool does not directly collect or maintain on its own servers:

• Your name or email address for a Tide Pool account
• Your phone number
• Your precise GPS location
• Your contacts
• Your photos or videos
• Your microphone recordings
• Your personal payment card or bank details
• Your game data through a Tide Pool backend
• Analytics data through Firebase Analytics or another first-party analytics platform

8. Data Security

Data handled by third-party services such as Google AdMob and Google Play Billing is subject to those services' security and privacy practices. Information transmitted by supported Google services is generally protected in transit using encryption.

Tide Pool itself does not operate a server that stores player accounts or game progress.

9. Children's Privacy

Tide Pool does not knowingly request personal information directly from children and does not require users to create accounts. Because Tide Pool uses third-party advertising services, advertising and consent behavior is also subject to Google's policies and applicable requirements concerning children and families.

10. Your Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have choices regarding advertising consent and personalized advertising. You can also control Android permissions, including notifications, through your device settings.

You may stop using the Game and uninstall it at any time. Uninstalling the Game removes its locally stored application data subject to Android system behavior and backup settings.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Game, its services, or applicable legal requirements change. The updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
